Just giving everyone a quick update!

The paperwork is in process for the new company, which we have named Silver Phoenix Society. It will be a non-profit organization dedicated to running various events for the geek and Steampunk communities and will be run via committee rather than the say-so of a single person.

The best playground in the world is the one where a person, usually so small in comparison that they need to reach way way up to do it, takes him by the hand and leads him over to come and play.
In other words, the playground matters very little..,.compared to the players.

Turtle Hill Events is preparing to announce an agreement that will help stabilize Wicked Faire 2018 in a way that we hope will please the alternative-lifestyle community. While the ink is not yet dry on this agreement, will expect it will be soon.

TL;DR: THE is giving the WF hotel $8000 to rescue that event. In exchange THE is getting GKE and GKENE. We'll be shelving the names and running a new event in Nov appealing to the same audience. More details soon. Don't cancel your rooms or your tickets yet, please! GKENE plans are still being formulated.

It’s difficult to put into short, succinct words the emotions I feel as I scroll through the accounts and personal stories that have come to light in the last few days. It was laborious to try to describe to my non-geeky friends the scope of the damage that this Community has been delivered at the hands of some very powerful, influential, and stubborn people. Eventually the term ‘Community Trauma’ came from my mouth, and I felt it was the best shortcut to describe the sudden change in the power dynamic we’re seeing unfold.

Just an FYI for those who wanted to cancel and felt they could not get a refund (Tammy did not answer those questions), the Hyatt IS very much aware of the issue (and no,  contrary to Tammy's claim,  no one was harassing/threatening hotel staff or the hotel.   That was just another gaslight moment to protect JMEs image.  The Hyatt has just had a lot of calls from reasonably concerned patrons and vendors.) and IS offering refunds.   The contact person is Hannah at 609 734 4081.  Can you make a more public post regarding this where you think it needs to be said?   Hyatt believes the victims.

Note: this seems to be iffy. Some people are reporting they have gotten hotel refunds, others not. It is recommended to try phone and social media options to reach the hotel if you wish to pursue a refund.

She said the ones wishing refund have to specifically state it is a request due to "safety concerns and the allegations of assault" for her manager to approve it.  She's very nice about it. "
